Since 1877, the Museum of Old Newbury has been collecting, preserving, and presenting the history of Newburyport, Newbury, West Newbury, Byfield, and Plum Island. With objects and documents, we tell the stories of local people from the past four centuries. Whether you are new to the area or a 10th generation descendant, we invite you to become a member today!

Winter tours are being offered: Saturdays from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. (Last tour at 3 p.m.) Weather permitting, some dates or tour times excluded.

In the offseason, Members may schedule private tours. Please contact the museum with as much notice as possible. Call 978-462-2681 to schedule your tour for up to 8 people. Note—you must become a museum member or have an active membership to schedule an off-season tour.
