Step inside the privately owned Jeremiah Pearson Tavern, built in the late 17th century for a rare members-only night of history, hospitality, and Revolutionary good cheer. Traditionally said to have operated as a tavern from 1732 to 1837, this remarkable Byfield home offers a fitting setting for a party honoring America’s 250th birthday.

Seasonal Saturdays! Winter Museum Tours begin on October 17: Saturdays from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. (*Last tour at 3 p.m.) Weather permitting.

A Newburyport story will take its place on an international stage this fall when Bethany Groff Dorau, Executive Director of the Museum of Old Newbury, travels to The National Archives in Kew, England, to present at The Prize Papers of the American War of Independence, an international workshop on October 8 and 9, 2026.
