Call for Gardens--38th Annual Garden Tour

The Museum of Old Newbury's Annual Garden Tour, now in its 38th year, is a treasured community event showcasing some of the area's loveliest gardens. Over the last three and a half decades, gardens of all sizes have been represented from "pocket gardens" to more extensive gardens on High Street. Some have been well established and others recently designed and planted. Hardscapes, green gardens, and flowers in various gardens all combine to complement one another in a diverse mix showing off the talents of local gardeners and garden lovers.

This year's event is scheduled for June 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Co-chairmen Jane Wild and Sally Chandler, members of the museum's board, are currently seeking gardens in the communities of Newburyport, Newbury, and West Newbury. If you are interested in participating and showcasing your garden, please contact the museum at info@newburyhistory.org or by calling the office at 978-462-2681. Garden owners who participate receive two free tickets to the tour, an invitation to a special spring gala, and a year's complimentary membership to the museum. 2017 is the museum's 140 anniversary. This is a wonderful opportunity to be included in this landmark event!

Other events included during the tour are the 38th annual plant sale, morning lectures with handy tips for your garden, free tours of the Cushing House, and the Gilded Horse boutique offering a fine sampling of home and garden accessories.
